about
hi, welcome :)
my name is emily (she/her), i am a queer, licensed acupuncturist and certified yoga teacher in new york city. i received my master of science in acupuncture from pacific college of health and science and have been teaching yoga for the past ten years. i have worked across several industries, from finance to advertising to health care, and understand the vast demands of modern life.
like many, i believe life happens by way of change, but i find that change is not necessarily simple or easy. we encounter it on macro and micro levels, in every shape imaginable. it can be beautiful and horrifying, magical and mundane, beneficial and detrimental.
i offer therapeutic acupuncture treatments, tools of perspective, and practical movement techniques to ease physical, mental and emotional pains. i incorporate many modalities in my work including e-stim, cupping, gua sha, moxibustion, bleeding, trigger release, restorative yoga, stretching and breathing. my interests and specialties include stress, anxiety, depression, nervous system dysregulation, insomnia, gastrointestinal disorders, fatigue and musculoskeletal pain. my practice is inclusive of all bodies and gender affirming. i practice in alignment with health at every size and anti-diet principles. i find acupuncture and movement are wonderful complimentary practices to most other forms of health care.
my approach in practice is centered around helping my patients and students build agency to better navigate the changes they are experiencing. we will work together in this; i do not consider myself a healer, more than anything i am a listener. we will discuss your goals and challenges to create a collaborative treatment plan that is sustainable for your unique life.
beyond practicing i enjoy spending time with my girlfriend and puppy. i am a taurus, earthy and indulgent, i love exploring the city, nature, climbing, little treats, martinis, staying home and watching movies.
